Foripower Flow Battery Energy Storage DC-DC and PCS Converter Solution

Foripower presents a comprehensive solution for flow battery energy storage systems, addressing industry pain points such as low cell voltage, high leakage current, and poor reliability of centralized PCS. The solution utilizes third-generation wide bandgap silicon carbide (SiC) devices, achieving single-stage PCS efficiency of 99% and two-stage efficiency of 98%, which is 1-2% higher than traditional IGBT-based systems. Key features include modular design with three module combinations for different applications, liquid cooling that leverages the flow battery's circulation system, high power density (200kW DC-DC or 100kW DC-DC+PCS in compact modules), and enhanced safety with ground insulation detection and leakage protection. The system offers fast charge/discharge transition times under 100ms, low voltage/current ripple below 1% F.S., and power factor greater than 0.99 with current harmonics under 3%. Foripower's solution reduces volume and weight to about one-third of traditional IGBT systems, facilitates rapid deployment, and provides safe disconnection for faulty modules without affecting overall system operation.
