Interpretation of Grid-Connected Performance Standards for New Energy Storage

This document interprets the 'Technical Regulations for Electrochemical Energy Storage Station Connecting to Power Grid' (GB/T 36547-2024), a fundamental national standard published on 2024.05.28 and implemented on 2024.12.01. It covers key aspects of grid-connected performance for electrochemical energy storage stations, including power control, primary frequency regulation, inertia response, fault ride-through, and operational adaptability. Compared to the old standard, significant changes include stricter active power control requirements (response time ≤500ms, regulation time ≤2s, conversion time ≤500ms, deviation ≤±1%), reactive power control with power factor adjustable from 0.9 leading to 0.9 lagging, overload capability (110% for 10min, 120% for 1min), mandatory primary frequency regulation and inertia response functions with upload signals, and expanded scope to new, modified, and expanded stations at 10(6) kV and above. These modifications aim to better adapt to the rapid development of energy storage systems in China, ensuring grid stability and performance.
