Aqueous Organic Flow Battery: Safe & Efficient Energy Storage

Suqian Times Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd. specializes in the research, development, production, and sales of aqueous organic flow batteries (AOFBs). Collaborating with top universities like USTC and Xi'an Jiaotong University, the company has overcome key technical challenges in material preparation, stack amplification, and battery assembly. It operates China's first large-width anion exchange membrane production line and is the first domestic company to commercialize AOFBs. The technology uses a neutral sodium chloride aqueous solution as the supporting electrolyte, making it non-corrosive, non-flammable, and environmentally friendly. AOFBs offer intrinsic safety, over 25 years of design life, 20,000 deep charge-discharge cycles, millisecond response, and adjustable frequency, making them ideal for grid-side frequency modulation and peak regulation, as well as power-side applications. The company has applied for over 200 patents, with production bases capable of 2 GWh annual capacity. It has delivered megawatt-class projects domestically and overseas, including in Germany, and secured funding from Hillhouse Capital and Beijing Green Energy.
