In 2024, China improved policy systems, strengthened planning, advanced technology research, and enhanced market mechanisms to support new energy storage. By end of 2024, 73.76 million kW/168 million kWh of new energy storage was operational, over 40% of global capacity. Technologies diversified, supporting new power systems. For 2025, the report emphasizes scientific planning, innovation, market and price mechanism improvements, and international cooperation to lay a foundation for the 15th Five-Year Plan. The report also covers global trends, including increased investment, market growth, and technology applications, highlighting new energy storage's role in ensuring power system stability and advancing the dual carbon goals.
