Thermal Management for Energy Storage Refrigerating Units

This document, GB/T 46443-2025, is a national standard of the People's Republic of China that specifies the types, basic parameters, technical requirements, inspection rules, and marking, packaging, transport, and storage requirements for refrigerating units (heat pumps) used in thermal management of electrochemical energy storage systems. It applies to units using vapor compression cycles, including air conditioning units and chilled/hot water units, and may also be referenced for similar units that manage thermal conditions for energy storage batteries and supporting modules. The standard covers test methods for performance, safety, and environmental compliance, and includes normative annexes for measuring discharge static pressure, annual cooling coefficient of performance, and noise. It was issued on October 31, 2025, and will be implemented on May 1, 2026, under the authority of the State Administration for Market Regulation and Standardization Administration of China.
