2025 Electrochemical Energy Storage Power Stations Industry Data
The 2025 Annual Electrochemical Energy Storage Power Stations Industry Statistical Data report, released by the China Electricity Council, provides comprehensive statistics on the development of electrochemical energy storage in China. As of the end of 2025, cumulative commissioned power stations reached 1,998 with a total installed capacity of 109.29 GW/276.22 GWh, a 40-fold increase from the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan period. Newly commissioned stations in 2025 totaled 525, adding 47.16 GW/134.85 GWh, a 27% year-on-year increase. Independent storage led growth with 32.33 GW new capacity, accounting for 69% of total additions. The average energy storage duration was 2.53 hours, with 2-hour duration systems comprising 66.49% of total power. Regional distribution highlights Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, Jiangsu, Shandong, and Yunnan for independent storage, and Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Hebei, and Qinghai for new energy storage.
